In Room 2 we went to the dump on the 21st of October and we learned about how we can save the planet and to make good composting and it is also good for the environment and we did  a rotation the first one was sorting out the worm poo, the second one was watering the plants with worm tea and the last  thing was striping news paper and dunking it into water and giving it to the worms.

 Christchurch is a wonderful place to be.

1) New Brighton because it has a wonderful beach.

2) Sumner is quite a nice place because it has wonderful hills to climb.

 Twigg came first place for the single sculls women's rowing  at Tokyo olympics on Friday the 30th of July.

Twigg said it was an honor to wear a silver fern.

Twigg came first place at the Tokyo olympics. While she was rowing, it was so interesting that the fish wanted to see her rowing.She was so exhausted but Twigg was so proud of herself that she got gold.

Rico must have been screaming of joy for her.


Twigg started rowing in 2001 and kept going and going until she had enough. 

In conclusion I never knew that Emma Twigg”s nephew was at new Brighton Catholic school.

Olympic facts

 

 The Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics alternate every two years which means the Summer Olympic Games are spaced four years apart and always come in between the Winter Olympic Games. In 2020 the Summer Olympics are held while in 2022 the Winter Olympics will take place.

The first Summer Olympic Games in 1896 were held with fourteen participating countries. Then 200 of the 241 sportsmen were from Greece and there were 43 sports events held in 9 sports.

The first countries to take part in these games were Greece, the USA, Germany, France, Great Britain, Hungary, Austria, Australia, Denmark and Switzerland.

No women were allowed to compete at the first Olympic Games, although one woman from Greece, 30-year-old Stamata Revithi, joined in the marathon event on her own.

David Walliams is a famous author; one of his most popular books is Billionaire Boy. 

Yes, Joe has everything he wants but there is one thing that he really needs, a friend. Sadly there are some things you can't buy...

The illustrator of this book  is Tony Ross. The original name of David Walliams was David Williams. David Walliams is a english comedian, actor and a writer,with many books he became famous.

Nowadays he is still very popular.

In  Billionaire boy the main characters are Joe Spud,Mr Spud [Joe’s dad], Bob Joe’s only friend,Saffire, a gold digger and Lauren, well you have to find out for yourself...

You should read Billionaire boy because it is a great book and you might like it. I would rate the book 5 stars because it has a very happy ending and a fantastic start and because it hooks me in to read more and more. In our class we are reading Gangsta Granny, another one of Davids’s awesome stories!  

I would recommend this book to be read by 3 year olds to 99 yrs old - any age! If you are a parent, I beg you  to read billionaire boy to your friends! This is because if you don't your children will not learn the secret to how exciting reading is. Maybe they could write a book and become a famous author… because they are inspired by this book!

In conclusion, I really enjoyed this book because it's really funny and you can read it in your spare time! I hope that this book report will make you go to the nearest library and get it out!

Recount about refugee walk!!!

 On Monday 10th of May the Senior syndicate went on a refugee walk. The refugee walk was at the red zone. Mr Gray blew the whistle and we hid from the teachers because the teachers were trying to hunt us down (they are not actually hunt us down it is only a game). As we walked we made huts,played a bomb game and we also had one hand full of rice it was awful.  I did not like being a refugee because in real life it would be much worse!!!

A limerick is when the two first sentences  rhyme but the other two sentences  don't rhyme with the first two sentences, but the last sentience rhymes with the first two sentences. There can only be 5 sentences but the rhythm goes like this,Da DUM da da DUM da da DUM,Da DUM da da DUM da da DUM, Da DUM da da DUM, Da DUM da da DUM,  Da DUM da da DUM. That is how you make a limerick 🤗😇😘

In room 2 we have been writing reports about our school. We looked at time capsule, interviewed Mrs daines
( the principle ) and we went around the school to take notes. I enjoyed this because we found a lot about our school history.what would you say in a report about your school?

This is my report about NBC

New Brighton Catholic School - Mary immaculate

Introduction  At New Brighton Catholic School (NBC) there are 203 children. NBC is one of the only schools in New Brighton that is close to the Seaside.

History Euphraise Barbiare wanted this school to be made because she needed more people to believe in Jesus so she founded NBC. In 1945 the children in this school (before the current students were even born)  made a time capsule. The time capsule was discovered in 2020.

                                                                                             

Events Every year NBC has a different event for good effort and behaviour that the students earned. Here are some of the events: Duffy day, mufti day, disco and toy day.Some kids also have their first Holy Communion and that is another special event. There are about 3 or 4 events a year.

Domain The government is really nice to let NBC use Rawhiti Domain to play in. In the Domain there are four tree stumps. There is also a fort but only the seniors are allowed on the fort. The children use the domain to play games at the breaks some people at NBC: collect pine needles,pine cones and different things that you can collect because there are lots of things that you can collect.

Conclusion In conclusion you should go to NBC and have a visit. You will love NBC as it is an awesome school.    So when you go to this school you change a lot!!!
